Yes, I know.  It looks like a garage to you.
But to Junk Drawer Labs, this is
  – Design Studio
  – Print Garden (vs. Print Farm, ‘cuz there are only two printers…for now)
  – Electronics Lab
  – Motorcycle Parking
 …so, yes. It’s a garage.
But pretty cool, right?

And, if you can’t find it here, you likely don’t need it…just like ANY great garage,
or Junk Drawer.

Sources of Inspiration

This book:
I’m not here to sell books.
I AM here to explore religious art.
I found this book to be HIGHLY instructive!

There are a lot of subjective ideas about beauty that really boil down to opinions; in particular, MY opinion.

But there is an objective nature to beauty that doesn’t involve my opinion at all.

This book does a great job of putting it all into perspective.

There’s a lot of ugly in the world.  A dose of beauty and what it really is might be valuable.

Here is a link to a really great synopsis of the book.

This is the facade of the church in Orvietto, Italy.

We DO NOT have ANYTHING like this in the United States.

We build houses in under 60 days.  The churches in Italy were built WAY before CAD.  The people who laid the foundation stones did not see the spires of the church.

We suffer from short term memory and impatience.

BUT, there is hope!

We still desire beauty.  The hope is that Junk Drawer Labs will somehow fan the flames of that desire.

Here is a link to an Indianapolis area artist who is striving to fan the flames of desire for beauty in his restoration work.
